Kingston NY film maker Chris Finlay has used the track “East” in his short autobiographical piece “Chris’ Story”. ”East” features prominently in the film, setting the optimistic mood of Chris getting back into film making after many years, about 3 minutes into the piece. Saturday, May 29th, 2010Umbrella Brigade working on second album at Leopard Studio
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010Last weekend was the another recording session for the Umbrella Brigade, with Whitey Sterling completing all but one song of vocals. This record is a bit of a departure from the last one, as the band here has added live drums and guitar, and changed up membership. This new CD is being recorded by Hillary Johnson (HiFi Hil), who notably worked on the very first Stiffs Inc. single, produced by Rick Bacchus, as well as doing recording for the Ramones.
The CD will be released along with a book with illustrations by Peter Benedetti!

We are hard at work on a video for A Viberatto
Wednesday, May 12th, 2010With the CD still on target for a first day of summer release, we have been completed the filming and begun the editing for the video for our track called “Now”. Using Imovie, we are doing this completely in house. Sometimes it seems like a better video camera could really be helpful, but this one is all we have here…..I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this…..
The Stickmen at Bearsville Theater
Tuesday, May 11th, 2010went to see tony levin’s band, the stickmen, on Sunday night at the Bearsville Theater. aMazing – three virtuosos. 2 chapman stick players and the drummer. my wife, kate, had never seen the chapman bass played before and was blown away. she said ‘i don’t know why every musician wouldn’t want to know how to play that instrument’. i mentioned the difficulty. anyway, check them out if you get a chance. it’s hard hitting, beautiful and interesting.
